Entrepreneur: Isaac Nelson
Having spent many years within the ICT sector, Isaac Nelson always sought new and exciting personal projects to stretch and challenge him. Following a conversation with a friend in the nursing profession, Isaac recognised a niche market in recruiting health professionals in particular.
In November 2006, Isaac joined the African Caribbean Business Network seeking networking opportunities and advice, and was soon referred to GLE oneLondon who were able to provide him the opportunity to place his business within the French market.
In February 2007, Isaac attended a trade mission to Paris organised by GLE oneLondon under a programme funded by the EC.
During this three-day expedition Isaac, as well as attending the various seminars and networking events, was able to meet with four different Parisian recruitment agencies who were all very keen on setting up partnerships.
On his return to London, Isaac informed the Parisian companies which one he wanted to create a formal partnership with. In June 2007 this company visited Isaac's London office and conducted several days of meetings. The relationship has grown steadily and both companies will now be seeing a change in each other’s websites as they become bilingual.
In the future, Isaac and his partnered company will be working increasingly closely and aim to share clients and direct them to each other’s company when possible – thus increasing what they can provide a client, and thereby increase their client base.
The French company also shared best practice with Isaac by allowing him to look at their contracts.
As Absolute Recruit grows from strength to strength, Isaac will continue to utilise the services provided by GLE oneLondon, and looks to come back in the future when aiming to place his business in differing markets. He is also considering accesses business advice and a growth loan from GLE oneLondon in order to grow his business and take it a step further.
