parents sit on a sofa with their child Childcare Affordability Programme

The Childcare Affordability Programme 2005 will now not be recruiting any new parents.

If you live in any of the following boroughs, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Newham, Greenwich (east London), Hounslow, Hillingdon, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Harrow, and you are seeking advice in training opportunities or work and need childcare please click here

The programme is funded by the London Development Agency and managed by GLE.

If you are currently using a CAP phase 1 full day or flexible place (which means your weekly childcare costs will be subsidised) this will continue until 31st December 2009. The continuation will only apply to the nursery you are currently using. After that date the subsidy will no longer apply and you should discuss with your nursery how much your child care will cost from 1st January 2010.

If you are currently accessing a CAP phase 2 place, the local authority or nursery will have provided you with an agreement which will state the final date on which your childcare will be paid for through the programme. You should check your agreement as soon as you receive this leaflet and speak to your nursery or local authority if you are accessing a CAP phase 2 Special Educational Needs (SEN) place.

If you have any questions or queries please talk to your nursery manager or contact GLE on 0800 587 7115.
