The creative industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in London and the UK, covering a range of business areas from software, film and publishing to cutting edge designer fashion and advertising.

May 2007 saw the staging of the 3rd Creative Industries Investment Marketplace, held in the Great Hall of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in central London. The marketplace event is the culmination of the Creative Business Accelerator Programme, which aims to equip young, high potential creative businesses with the business skills and financial basics they need to access the investment they require.

The programme is delivered by GLE, in co-operation with the London Development Agency and City of London and is supported by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, who hosted the marketplace event. 

The entrepreneurs involved in the programme were handpicked for their business growth potential and through the programme they received direct support in building their company’s investment readiness. 

The marketplace therefore provided investors with a connection to a substantial selection of early stage investment ready creative businesses.

The next investment marketplace event will be on May 15th 2008.
