Croydon Business Angels

GLE London Business Angels launched on the 9th July 2008 a new initiative looking to boost Business Angel Investment in the Croydon Region called Croydon Business Angels. The Initiative looks to raise the profile of business angels in the area; providing training for potential angels and ultimately creating a syndicate of angel investors based in the area.

Business Angel investing is based on the concept of individuals who invest their own money in an early stage business. This has the potential to bring high rewards, but also brings risks. In addition to their cash investment, Business Angels make their own skills, experience and contacts available to the company to support the growth of the business, often taking a seat on the Board of the company and offering ongoing guidance. Our experience is that most business angels gain real satisfaction from being part of the success of a good investment and the sense of putting something back.

Croydon Business Angels is being delivered by GLE London Business Angels, one of the most established business angel networks in the UK – it has been operating for over 25 years. Business Angel investing is a key element in the finance initiatives offered by the Croydon Enterprise programme. You may already know about this programme which is using enterprise and entrepreneurship as a powerful tool to regenerate Croydon.
