Green Mark

GLE’s Green Mark is a leading certification for organisations improving their environmental performance.

Green Mark is a simple, tailored environmental certification scheme. It helps organisations to:

• Demonstrate environmental responsibility;
• Reduce costs;
• Attract new customers;
• Comply with environmental legislation; and
• Work towards ISO 14001, EMAS and other accreditation schemes.

There are two Green Mark levels to work towards.

Level 1 is an introductory level, suitable for organisations who are starting to address their environmental performance.

Level 2 builds on this by supporting organisations to develop an Environmental Management System. This can help progress towards ISO 14001 and other similar accreditations.

Organisations are fully supported throughout the Green Mark process by an adviser, who will prepare an action plan, enable access to a library of help documents and offer ongoing telephone and email support.
