Pitching to International Buyers

A practical, hands-on seminar designed to help London SMEs perfect their pitch before approaching international buyers.

GLE oneLondon in association with UK Trade & Investment London are offering companies a free one day seminar to learn how to position your business offer in a clear and compelling manner for the international market. You’ll also be invited to observe and participate in pitches, and receive immediate and valuable feedback from both a coach and the seminar group.

The event will aim to recreate a realistic pitching situation, reflecting the dynamics of a live pitch to international buyers. You’ll receive a complete overview of the sales process including the pricing of products and services.

Working through the international sales process

  • Prospecting – using trade mission matchmaking opportunities more effectively for your business, gaining access to international partners and networks and conducting the right type of market research.
  • Promoting – outlining why an international buyer would want to see you and what you can do to ensure you meet their needs before you meet them. Matching your capabilities with their needs. Making sure there is a good "fit".
  • Protecting – reassuring overseas clients about the quality of your after sales service. Critical challenges when selling overseas.
  • How to price your products and services for international markets.

Pitching and presentation skills

  • The content and delivery of international sales pitches;
  • Techniques to build rapport and trust with non-UK audiences;
  • Individual presentation skills, presence and credibility;
  • Presentation styles and formats;
  • Tips for effective networking at international fairs and events.
