Pathway to Self-Employment workshop

Do you live in Southwark, Camden, City of London, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Tower Hamlets or Westminster? Are you thinking of becoming self-employed? If so, we invite you to join us at this free pathway to self-employment workshop.

This three-hour workshop is designed to help you explore whether self-employment or starting a business is the best option for you.

You'll learn about the basics of managing change, the legal frameworks of a business, and get tips on building a successful and sustainable business venture.

Topics covered:

• Would self-employment suit you?
• The ten critical competences of starting a business.
• Legal business structures.
• Finding and testing your target market.
• How to research your cost of sales and start-up costs.
• What makes a viable business idea?

At the end of this workshop, an adviser will be able to assess the viability of your business idea, and advise you on your next move. If appropriate, you'll be enrolled onto a Business Planning workshop or referred to your local business support provider for further assistance.
