Background

Phab provide accessible and inclusive opportunities for disabled and non-disabled children, providing safe, supportive environments for them to try new experiences, build their confidence and make new friends.

Faced with imminent funding cuts and increasingly cash-strapped donors, the charity was forced to face the prospect of making staff redundant. This would significantly lower the number of people they would be able to help.

How GLE helped them

GLE Consulting has a strong track record of supporting third-sector organisations, and a senior consultant from the team was able to signpost Phab to available funding opportunities.

After attending GLE Consulting’s accredited Bid Writing and Funding opportunities workshop, a GLE Consultant established which of their funding options was practical. Phab were then supported through the application process.

The impact of this help

In December they managed to win three funding applications totalling £53k. This allowed them to reinstate their 9 staff who were all facing redundancy. The money has allowed Phab to continue its much-needed work with disabled children in Hounslow. They have also been able to maintain and manage their building.
