Making it / Photo: GLEMake it Big in Food

This new pilot project delivers skills training to London's food manufacturers. Funded by the London Development Agency, the project aims to provide training to individuals and companies at all levels of skills development from pre-start to high growth.

Making It! will offer a complete service to businesses at all levels of the trajectory, from those requiring food hygiene training to food manufacturers needing higher level skills to grow their business, perhaps through business planning, access to finance, investment readiness or international opportunities. Participants in a recent workshop are pictured right learning about food hygiene.

Selected businesses will be given the opportunity to access customers in new markets overseas through participation in a trade development mission or in a London-based food exhibition. The project will work closely with existing providers to London food businesses, such as Creative Food Solutions.

The focus of this project will be on individuals from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, women and other priority diversity groups to increase their employment and business opportunities. This project will operate pan- London.
