GLE oneLondon offers a range of seminars, courses and support for people looking to start a business and existing businesses in and around a number of housing estates in Southwark:

These include:

Programme of awareness events

A series of taster sessions to find out more about what it takes to start and run a business. We will help to explore and develop your ideas. You will have the chance to meet successful business people, our team of outreach workers and business advisers.

Community business adviser

We have a dedicated business adviser to work with people living in or doing business in the area.

Business planning

Once you have your idea and want to turn it into a business then you will need a business plan. This four session workshop will take you through the stages of developing a plan with the support of one of our fully qualified business advisers who will help you look for the finance you need.

New entrepreneur scholarship

A programme designed to take you through all the stages of starting up a business. Delivered in conjunction with Westminster University, you will attend a series of workshops and networking events as well as receive support from a fully qualified business adviser. You may also receive a grant
of up to £1,500 to launch your idea.

ICT for business

The use of computers and new technology can assist the efficiency of both new and existing businesses, particularly when seeking new customers.

An introduction to social enterprise

This course will cover the full range of opportunities presented in business through becoming a social enterprise and the way in which these businesses directly benefit the communities in which they operate.

Access to Finance

Find out how to raise finance from non-bank sources. Loans for existing businesses to assist growth are available up to £20,000 for trading businesses. Loans for new businesses up to £7,500 (all loans are subject to rejection by a mainstream loan provider)

One to one support or guidance from our team of experts

Half day business health check. To review the key areas of your business and set targets to ensure the ongoing success of your enterprise

Business development programme – ongoing support to assist the growth of your business and assistance in developing your strategy to grow, which could include business planning and marketing

Networking events with local businesses and key representatives
