GLE purchased an area of contaminated and derelict land in the borough of Lewisham with views of the river and Thames Barrier. GLE endeavoured to develop live/work units which proved to be of the highest value to the local authority in combining housing with increased employment in the area, securing premium space for jobs and growing SME’s.

The 38 live/work units developed by GLE in Lewisham included a variety of two and three storey accommodation constructed in a pleasant courtyard environment. Virtually all of them were sold off-plan and built in two phases to reduce the sales risk for GLE.

Live/work units provide vital accommodation to many start-ups in London who may not otherwise be able to own their own business space.
