Facilitation of Activities of Evaluation Expert Groups as Part of the "EQUAL Evaluation Community of Inquiry and Practice” Transnational Project

GLE in collaboration with HOPE, division EUservis.cz (lead partner), was appointed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic to deliver the transnational project: Facilitation of Activities of Evaluation Expert Groups as part of the EQUAL Evaluation Community of Inquiry and Practice (EQUAL eCIP).

EQUAL eCIP is one of the six EQUAL communities which have been supported by the European Commission. This project was prepared by the Czech Republic, along with its partners from Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Malta and Hungary.

In the framework of this project the consortium HOPE-GLE will focus on the three following themes:

1. EQUAL evaluation of gender mainstreaming
2. EQUAL evaluation of innovation
3. EQUAL innovation of evaluation methods

The general objectives of the project are as follows:

• To intensify and to encourage the information exchange among expert groups members and evaluation experts;
• To support the European Commission with evaluations and EU comparative analysis in the field of the evaluation processes and results;
• To ensure on-line support to national policy makers, experience exchange and best practice policies developed under CIP EQUAL;
• To create the EQUAL evaluation sourcebook 2007-2008 (evaluators’ practice, EQUAL evaluation process, case studies, evaluation findings, best practices examples, innovative evaluation methods, etc.)
• To ensure electronic exchange of the best practice examples, case studies, evaluation studies, etc;
• To encourage self-evaluation and empowerment evaluation principles and practices in terms of assessing the evaluation processes and policies;
• To strengthen partnership among the evaluation institutions, public administration, EU institutions and non-governmental institutions.
